Raising awareness of team-leaders, supervisors and managers

A two-day training course and workshop called, "Changing perception in your workplace" is delivered to all team-leaders, supervisors and managers. The program contains the following:

  • Risk perception in the workplace - an introduction
  • Why humans have accidents
  • Safety culture and perception in your organisation - a summary of the results of the cultural and perception surveys
  • Leadership and motivation - how to lead for change and how to motivate during the change process
  • Personality - how a personality is formed and how personality impacts upon safety
  • Values, beliefs and attitude
  • The HSE document, HSG 48 - human behaviour
  • Personal risk assessment and observation techniques
  • Communicating health and safety - the art of positive reinforcement

During each of the above sessions delegates on the workshop will have the opportunity to explore their own individual style of leadership and how this impacts upon health and safety within their work environment. Delegates will also be required to create "individual action plans" to help them make improvements in the way they lead for safety.
